A Celebration that Started in the Aisles
When Seafood City approached Gawin Media to bring energy back into their stores, the goal was simple: create an experience that made people feel proud of where they came from while inviting everyone else to join the celebration.
The idea grew into a nationwide activation that transformed ordinary grocery aisles into lively cultural stages. What began as a single weekend event in November quickly evolved into a full tour across Canada. Shoppers who came in for groceries found themselves staying for music, food, and community. The air was filled with the sound of laughter, upbeat tracks, and the smell of freshly cooked meals from the in-store restaurants that became part of the show.

From Winnipeg to the Nation
Winnipeg set the tone early with more than 1,200 guests walking through the doors on Saturday alone, earning the second-highest attendance among all Seafood City locations in North America. Seattle took the top spot with over 1,500 visitors, but the Winnipeg crowd left a mark of its own. The response was overwhelming, with people dancing between aisles, cheering for giveaways, and proudly sharing the moment online.
Following this success, Seafood City expanded the activations into Edmonton and Scarborough. Over the next several weeks, the celebrations rolled out from coast to coast with new dates announced for November and December. Each stop continued to draw thousands of people and inspired new local collaborations with DJs, performers, and small businesses.

More than an Event
The Seafood City Activation proved that community events can thrive in unexpected spaces. It showed how food, music, and culture can turn a shopping trip into a shared memory. For Gawin Media, it was more than an activation. It was proof that great storytelling can start anywhere, even in the aisles of a supermarket.
